Mountains overlooking the sea and a wonderful hinterland, offers endless natural landscapes and hidden corners, which can give anyone trekking with breathtaking views to discover ancient villages and castles, centuries-old beech woods, caves and ponds.
For hiking lovers, not to be missed, the high altitude walks on the Alta Via del Monti Liguri, a unique route of 422 km composed of 43 stages through the whole Ligurian Riviera.
Another trail , “sentiero Liguria”, crosses the whole region as well. With its variety of landscapes and hiking trails, is suitable for Nordik walking lovers, as well as for an easy trekking.
From simple walks for families, to more challenging routes, in which just calibrate the pace, walking along the paths near the sea, feeling the scent and recognizing the colors, you can not be disappointed.

Starting from the Residence, you reach the cemetery of Ceriale and following the "CAI" sign, (a red sign with a square shape) you proceed on a panoramic path up to intersect a dirt road that, in 30 minutes of slow walking, reaches directly the top.
Piccaro is the mountain that overlooks the Cape of Borghetto S.S., and is the starting point of from there starts a path, all on the ridge, which leads to the Sanctuary of the" Madonna della Pace", a place of pilgrimage.
Along the way you'll enjoy magnificent landscapes on the coast, but ...nothing is compared to what you will see on the top!
The small Chapel that overlooks the most panoramic point, can be reached by following a semi-hidden path with shrub and brooms.
It comes down from the side of Borghetto S.S. and along the new walkway overlooking the sea you you come back to Ceriale
Beautiful and easy ring hike, can be carried out in all seasons.
In ten minutes walk, from Residence Oliveto, you reach the local Cemetery, where a white and red hiking sign indicates Monte Croce - Monte Acuto - Ceresa lace - Martinetto (6 hours walk).
The road turns into a dirt road, and on east direction, first on flat ground and then with mild slopes between olive trees and Mediterranean scrub, the path faithfully follows the ridge and after a short downhill stretch reaches the summit of Monte Croce.
Wide views of the Ligurian coast, even the view from the top of Mount Acuto is of certain interest, while in the sea direction you can admire the coastline which extends in both directions and the Gallinara island.
From here you can reach the Sanctuary of Monte Croce or Madonna di Balestrino, destination of pilgrimages from all over Europe
Starting point ot the tour is the Paleontological Museum "S. Lai".
The trail crosses the Ibà Valley and the Rio Torsero Regional Reserve.
It is an interesting itinerary for the with the valuable flora and fauna and the presence of karst phenomena.
Along the way there is the presence of charcoal...
On the way back, the ancient village of Peagna certainly worth a visit.
